The tranquility ofthis place is truly inspiring. I amy be remote, and far removed from *things* but there is something special about living here. I just got home from canoeing. It is a beautiful clear night... a little chilly, mid-fourties I'd guess. The lake was like glass, and as I canoed, I took in all the beauty around me. The mountains, the leaves changing color, the wildlife, and the sound of the paddle gently moving the water. It made me realize a lot things. I am getting to do things and experience things right now that I might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience. I am getting to know my surroundings and have a deeper appreciation of nature. I feel peaceful and comfortable...As I drove back from the canoe trip, I realized that I was even having fun doing that! I had the canoe on top of the Jeep, the windows rolled down, and Dave Matthews blaring... I had to stop for 9 deer, 1 bear and 12 turkeys all in a 12 mile stretch. Only in the mountains! :)
